Irene wanted me to write a blog, but I thought I'd try this for a year instead.
Years later, in 2011, I realize that the above no longer makes sense, since I have stopped photographing breakfast and instead occasionally put down random thoughts. These days I photograph our granddaughter's lovely face, paint for fun, knit and teach knitting at an after-school program for girls, and read. Life is good, if a bit slow, but then, so am I.
Yes, we put fork on the left and knife on the right and spoon on the top, but if it is the coffee spoon, we put it to the right of the coffee. You never eat with a knife and a fork. You just cut it with your fork, don't you?
I know, it all has to do with etiquette etc. It is silly. In the Netherlands, the proper way to eat your open faced sandwich is with a knife and fork. You must never forget that when visiting someone for lunch. Unless you visit me.

Were you always left handed?
Why do you think I'm left-handed? I'm not, LOL!
Your utensils are on the left hand side of your plate and cup and saucer. That's why.
Oh, that's the way I set my table, fork on the left, spoon on the right of the plate, not outside the saucer. Must be the American style.

My eggs aren't tough enough for a knife!
