Irene wanted me to write a blog, but I thought I'd try this for a year instead.
Years later, in 2011, I realize that the above no longer makes sense, since I have stopped photographing breakfast and instead occasionally put down random thoughts. These days I photograph our granddaughter's lovely face, paint for fun, knit and teach knitting at an after-school program for girls, and read. Life is good, if a bit slow, but then, so am I.
You would be surprised what I had for lunch on Saturday! We had a visitor from Lithuania, and the boys wanted a typical American meal, so I fixed Thanksgiving in July, complete with turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, spinach, cranberry salad, and apple and pumpkin pies for dessert. Not your typical Saturday!! It was nearly 90 and we had to turn on the a/c for the first time this year.
It was very good of you to do it in spite of the heat, but I can't imagine eating such a meal when It's 90 degrees outside, although I know you're a terrific cook. I hope your Lithuanian visitor appreciated the effort, but now he thinks Americans eat like this every Sunday probably. Did he speak English or was it pantomime?
