Irene wanted me to write a blog, but I thought I'd try this for a year instead.
Years later, in 2011, I realize that the above no longer makes sense, since I have stopped photographing breakfast and instead occasionally put down random thoughts. These days I photograph our granddaughter's lovely face, paint for fun, knit and teach knitting at an after-school program for girls, and read. Life is good, if a bit slow, but then, so am I.
Hey, did you go back to Callahan's? That breakfast looks great! I'm sure there is some real butter on those pancakes. Yum, good! And real maple syrup, of course. God, before I die, I have to be able to have a breakfast like that.
I'm just not that into butter, unless I'm dipping lobster into it or baking with it. I like my pancakes with syrup, but not so much that they're soggy. Callahan's pancakes are sooooo fluffy!

Yes, we went back to Santa Monica yesterday. No butter, there's enough fat in the bacon, but the syrup is so tasty.
I like my pancakes drenched in butter. I mean, if you are going to be bad anyway...what a way to go.
